Basket & Broom Making; Blacksmithing

Saturday, October 19   10am - 4pm

Take a close-up look at the craftsmanship that goes into making a basket, a broom and a horseshoe, when conservators of these trades visit the farm for a day of demonstrations and teaching.  There will be opportunities to try your hand at some of the steps involved, as well as a chance to learn about the skill workshops and classes offered at the farm in 2020.  During the afternoon, blacksmiths Mike Erdie and Daniel Lapidow will light up the forge and make shoes for the farm's draft horses.
